While taking this course, I hope to learn more about how to use technology as a student and teacher. Specifically, I hope to be able to use social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
We aren't going to spend a lot of time on Facebook or LinkedIN in this class. The first is seldom found in schools but used by students outside schools. There are colleges that are using it to teach, but there is some evidence that students want to keep their social and school worlds separate. On the other hand, Facebook is really like creating your own blog. We'll look at Ning which is a more controlled world like Facebook. LinkedIn is really Facebook for the professional world. We will be looking at Twitter.
